Socarrat’s Spanish Restaurants in New York City are excited to reopen to full-service dining. We have missed our patrons, and we want you to know that we will comply with all recommended safety measures to ensure you enjoy your dining experience as safely as possible.
New York City is Reopening Restaurants for Indoor Dining
Governor Cuomo announced that NYC restaurants, bars, and other businesses could reopen at full capacity on June 15th, 2021. While we are as excited about that news, we have taken steps to ensure that our restaurants comply with the federal guidelines set by the CDC.
Close to 70% of the state’s population has now had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Infection rates continue to trend downward, and the city is starting to regain some of the vibrancy that was put on hold during the pandemic. The city is expecting steady progress toward a return to pre-pandemic life.
Steps Socarrat Will Continue to Take to Ensure the Safety of Our Patrons
At Socarrat, the health and safety of our patrons and staff remain our top priority. Precautions we will continue to take include requiring patrons to wear masks until seated at their tables. All staff will wear masks at all times inside the restaurant. Servers will be assigned zones and we promote service that results in little overlap to mitigate risks. We have also reconfigured our kitchens to allow as much social distancing as possible.
Handwashing is encouraged among patrons and mandatory for staff members. We have taken proactive steps to ensure our employees do not come to work sick, nor do they come in if they have had potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus. We have developed a comprehensive health and safety plan in accordance with the mandates of the New York state government guidelines. We have ensured proper training in safety measures among our entire staff and have made a commitment to make sure we exceed the current guidelines but out by the CDC.
Though we have always prided ourselves in keeping our restaurants immaculate, we have upped our cleaning in response to COVID-19. We ensure every surface is disinfected between diners and do a deep clean designed to disinfect all areas of the restaurant once we close for the day.

While we are taking care to abide by all city, state, and federal regulations and suggested best practices, we are working just as hard to ensure that you will have a pleasurable dining experience. Patrons should notice little difference in their dining experience at Socarrat. We will continue to strive to serve the best Spanish food in the NYC area and provide the top-notch service that our loyal customers deserve.
